6. SMS/Text Messaging Disclosure and Terms (SMS/MMS)
Leizer Orthodontics may offer optional SMS/MMS text messaging for administrative and patient-care communications. Participation is voluntary and not a condition of receiving care.
6.1 Message Types
- Appointment reminders, confirmations, and scheduling coordination.
- Pre-visit instructions and limited administrative updates.
- Billing and insurance-related notifications.
6.2 Consent (Opt-In)
We only send text messages to individuals who provide affirmative consent (for example, by checking an unchecked opt-in box on a web form, or by signing/acknowledging consent in our intake documentation). Consent is not implied merely by providing a phone number. Not a condition of treatment: Your consent to receive texts is not required to receive orthodontic services.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.
6.5 Opt-Out and Help
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You may also contact our office to revoke consent. After opting out, you will not receive further texts unless you re-enroll.

6.6 Privacy Statement Required for SMS Programs
Mobile information and SMS consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers solely as necessary to support operational communications (such as appointment reminder platforms), subject to contractual obligations to protect the information.
6.7 Security Disclosure
We use vendors and safeguards designed to protect information. However, standard SMS transmission over cellular networks is not inherently end-to-end encrypted. If you choose to communicate with us by SMS, you acknowledge the potential security limitations of SMS technology.
6.8 Marketing Texts (Not Currently Sent)
Leizer Orthodontics currently uses text messaging for appointment-related communications and does not send marketing/promotional text messages. If we decide to send marketing or promotional texts in the future, we will obtain any additional consent required by law and carrier rules (including, where applicable, a separate, specific opt-in for marketing).
